You won’t find tons of cheap stuff being promoted on this website, we much prefer to keep the site clean and focused. However, a couple of things caught my attention recently and I was sufficiently excited by the one that I found today, to give it a mention here.
One of my earliest hobbies was lace making and collecting old Victorian lace and crochet. I had a trunk full of intricate crochet work and beautiful hand made lace, on blouses, tablecloths and Victorian night dresses. When I saw this advert, therefore, my eyes almost popped out of my head! A collection of over 300 crochet patterns that date back at least one hundred years.
These patterns have obviously been copied from old books and documents and some of them aren’t crystal clear, but if you want inspiration for a crochet project, then this is a really great deal.
Be warned, you will be taken to one of those ghastly sales pages. Fortunately, it wasn’t stupidly long and was sufficiently succinct to hold my attention. The little video presentation also shows you exactly what you’re buying.
Overall, I give it 9/10. It loses a point for being a Clickbank sales page and being a little unclear in places, but then again, Clickbank is really good at giving refunds, if you don’t like it once you’ve bought it.
This will certainly be going into my knitting and crochet pattern box. Anyway, the Vintage Crochet Pattern eBook gets a thumbs up from me.
Whilst I’m in the mood for promoting eBooks, the other one I saw recently, that I earmarked for later follow up, was a book on how to make money from knitting. Yep,
thousands of people have tried to make money from knitting, but very few are successful at it. Knitters are notoriously terrible sales people! There’s no kind way of saying it; having spent many years on the ‘craft circuit’ myself, I know it to be a fact. If you want to make a few extra dollars by doing something you really love and have the motivation to put action behind your words, then Knitting For Profit might be the start you’re looking for.I haven’t read it ….yet, so I am doing the very thing that I don’t like seeing on other websites and that is blind promotion. The difference here, is that I am admitting it. I just haven’t the time to read this one at the moment. Hmmmmm ….although I do have time to browse through the crochet pattern book? Ahhhh, but that’s a coffee time, browsing book. Excuses, excuses!
If you do read it, let me know what you think. That’s all for today, I’m back to fibre prep today, as well as sorting out a schedule for the Fibre Arts Bootcamp workshops.
Spring is on it’s way!!!
